Wisconsin announced that Victory Onuetu will join the Badgers next season, adding a 6-11 forward who spent last year at Hofstra and is set to arrive in Madison in June. Onuetu is the second transfer to join Wisconsin this spring, following Trey Autry’s announcement on Friday.
Gard praised Onuetu as “a terrific addition to our team,” calling him “an extremely talented, athletic front line player” with “excellent rim pressure in transition, lob threats in the half court, shot blocking capability and relentless rebounding.” He also said Onuetu is “an extraordinary person who Badger fans are going to love getting to know.”
Onuetu gives Wisconsin a player with proven production at multiple stops. At Hofstra last season, he played in all 35 games and made 17 starts, leading the team with 6.9 rebounds per game, 91 offensive rebounds and a 56.6% shooting mark from the field. He averaged 4.7 points per game, ranked second on the team with 36 blocks and recorded two double-doubles.
His final game at Hofstra underscored that production. In a 2026 NCAA Tournament loss to Alabama, Onuetu scored four points and grabbed nine rebounds. Before coming to the United States, he played for CB Prat Juventud in Spain’s Segunda FEB, where he averaged 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, and he also spent time with Monbus Obradoiro in Spain’s Primera FEB League.
Onuetu’s path has also included international success. He helped Spain win the FIBA Under-19 World Cup Championship and the FIBA Under-18 European Championship, and he represented Spain at the FIBA Under-20 Championship. Wisconsin’s latest addition comes with a clear profile: size, rebounding and experience, the kinds of traits Gard can plug into a roster that is still taking shape before June arrives.
