The are being discussed as a team looking to replace backup , and Day 3 of the Draft looks like the most likely place to do it if they do not take the veteran route. Green Bay also has a hole at No. 2 running back after signed with the , while the bottom of the wide receiver and tight end depth charts could use help.

That gives the Packers a clear list for Saturday: backup quarterback competition for and , a running back, and more bodies on the edges of the roster. They have six picks on Day 3, including two in the fifth round and two in the seventh round, enough capital to keep moving after offensive line depth is expected to be addressed on Day 2.

One quarterback who fits the conversation is of Miami, who is 24.4 years old, 6 feet 4 and three quarters inches tall and 233 pounds. He projects as an NFL backup and potential spot starter. Cole Payton of North Dakota State is another quarterback in the mix at 23.5 years old, 6 feet 2 and three eighths inches and 237 pounds.

The running back board includes Nick Singleton of Penn State, who is 22.3 years old, 6 feet and one quarter inch tall and 219 pounds. Singleton offers big-play potential with an exceptional blend of size and speed. Kaelon Black of Indiana is another option at 24.5 years old, 5 feet 9 and one quarter inches and 211 pounds.

At receiver, Chris Brazzell II of Tennessee stands 6 feet 4 and one eighth inches and weighs 199 pounds at 22.5 years old, and he has the talent to become a team's No. 2 or No. 3 option. Michael Trigg of Baylor is another name for the tight end group, giving the Packers a chance to add more competition where the depth chart thins out.

Day 3 is where personnel staffs can find unheralded players who grow into key pieces, and Green Bay has seen that path work before with Evan Williams, Romeo Doubs, Zach Tom and Rasheed Walker. With six picks and several needs still on the board, the Packers have room to come out of the draft with more than one answer.
