James Lafferty’s Everyone is Doing Great lands Netflix US release date

By Brandon Hayes Apr 18, 2026

has acquired the streaming rights to Everyone is Doing Great, bringing both seasons of the and comedy-drama to Netflix US on May 11, 2026. When the show lands, subscribers will get all eight episodes from Season 1 and Season 2.

The move finally gives Season 2 a home after it sat without a release date for years, even though it was entirely shot in 2023. The series follows and , two actors trying to move on after their vampire-themed teen drama Eternal became a massive television hit.

For Lafferty, the release ends a long wait that was already visible to fans. In October of last year, posted a promo on Instagram to push Season 1, and one fan replied that they highly doubted there would ever be a second season. Lafferty answered that Season 2 was finished and coming soon, adding that he hoped for a much shorter hiatus before Season 3.

That reply now reads like a clue to a show that spent four years drifting between platforms and silence. Everyone is Doing Great began as an independent, grassroots project backed by a successful crowdfunding campaign, and the first season later moved from to other services before ending up on Netflix's radar. Season 2 had been treated by fans as something close to lost media: completed, but unavailable.

The timing also gives Netflix a low-risk way to fill a gap in its lineup while a One Tree Hill reboot has been expected but remains unclear. For viewers who followed the show from the beginning, the more immediate payoff is simpler than that. On May 11, the wait ends, and the series that had been sitting on the shelf finally gets played in full.
