Christina Applegate has been hospitalized in Los Angeles, according to a report that said she was admitted in late March. The reason for the hospitalization was not known at the time, and a representative said they had no comment on whether she was in the hospital or what her medical treatments were.
The hospitalization lands in the middle of a public health battle Applegate has described for years. She first revealed in 2021 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and in a 2025 interview with InStyle she said she had been in the hospital upwards of 30 times because of the disease.
That history has also been reflected in her work and daily routine. In March, Applegate released her memoir, You with the Sad Eyes, which reached Bestsellers list. Then, in a February 2026 interview with PEOPLE, she said she spends a lot of the day in bed because it is too painful to move around.
She also said she still drives her daughter to school every day, calling it her favorite thing to do and the only time they have together by themselves. She described the routine simply: just get her there safely and get home so she can get back into bed.
The latest hospitalization does not change the central fact of Applegate’s story: she has faced a long, difficult course with multiple sclerosis, and the new admission appears to be part of that continuing struggle. What remains unknown is whether this stay marks a new complication or another step in treatment for a disease she has already said has sent her to the hospital many times before.
