stepped into the biggest spot on the card and turned Belfast into his night at SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Saturday. The unbeaten Irish fighter, 9-0, headlined after withdrew because of injury, and he met in the main event.

Kelly’s chance came after he opened his PFL run with two straight submission wins, giving him momentum on a card that shifted when Hughes could not go. Wilson arrived with an 11-2 record but was trying to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Archie Colgan in October, a defeat that left him needing a strong response in front of a Belfast crowd.

The change at the top of the card put Kelly in a familiar position for a young fighter still building his name: asked to carry a show before he had finished adding to his own résumé. Wilson had the experience edge on paper, but Kelly had the cleaner recent form, and became a test of whether that upward run could survive a late switch in opponent and the pressure that comes with a home main event.

That same night also marked ’s PFL debut in the co-main event, where he faced in a 176-pound catchweight bout. Elsewhere on the card, Eoin Sheridan beat Chris Mixan by unanimous decision, Caolan Loughran submitted Alan Philpott with a face crank at 1:11 of Round 1, and Omran Chaaban stopped Chequina Noso Pedro with knees and punches at 4:16 of Round 2.

Dean Garnett added a spinning elbow and strikes knockout of Ciaran Clarke at 1:52 of Round 1, while Pedro Carvalho edged Sergio Cossio by unanimous decision. David Martinez finished Giannis Bachar with a rear-naked choke at 0:53 of Round 2, Sean Gauci beat Liam Gittins by unanimous decision, Eoghan Masoliver submitted Shane Mullen with a rear-naked choke at 1:55 of Round 1, and Chelsea Hackett defeated Andrea Vazquez by unanimous decision. For Kelly, the bigger question now is whether his fast start can survive the jump from prospect to centerpiece after Belfast gave him the kind of assignment that can change a career in one night.
