Fortnite Save the World has become free to play, and players can now unlock the Jess Outfit by earning 350,000 XP in the mode before June 5 at 9 a.m. ET. Once the requirement is met, the outfit stays permanently unlocked and can be worn across all modes.
The reward is part of a limited-time quest line tied to Save the World, with the Jess Outfit available from now until June 5 at 9 a.m. ET. That timing matters because the XP count only comes from Fortnite Save the World, not from Battle Royale, Reload, Blitz or any other mode, even though the outfit can later be used everywhere once earned.
The race to unlock it is straightforward, but only if players stay inside the right mode. The best way to build toward the total is to play the game, complete Missions and Story Quests, and collect the XP awarded when those tasks finish. Quests can be found through the World Map in the main base, and the rewards are granted at the end of completion.
That also means there is no shortcut in the middle of a run. Leaving a Mission or Quest before it ends does not award XP, so the total only grows when players finish what they started. Battle Pass XP can still come from Daily Quests and bonus goals, but that progress does nothing for the Jess Quest.
The offer sits within a wider Fortnite Showdown storyline that has already moved through Act II, after Team Ice King and Foundation completed Act I and opened two mysterious vaults. Save the World’s free-to-play shift gives the quest a bigger audience, and Epic has left open the possibility that the Jess Outfit may return to the Item Shop later if players miss the deadline.
For now, the equation is simple: earn 350,000 XP in Save the World by June 5 at 9 a.m. ET, and the Jess Outfit is yours for good. Miss the window, and the only thing left is the chance it comes back another day.
