Jerzy Robinson signs South Carolina, and Dawn Staley is getting one of the country’s most decorated young guards. The Gamecocks announced that Robinson will join the program with four years of eligibility beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.
Robinson, a 6-foot guard from Chatsworth, California, and Sierra Canyon, is ranked No. 6 in the Class of 2026. Staley called her an all-level scorer who can shoot from outside, get to her spots and be physical in the paint. She added that Robinson’s winning mentality, competitive spirit and confidence will elevate the program, and said the staff cannot wait to get her to campus and have FAMS embrace her and her family.
The commitment gives South Carolina another elite piece in a 2026 class that already includes Kelsi Andrews and Kaeli Wynn. It also keeps alive the pipeline Staley has built with high-end recruits who arrive with production, pedigree and the kind of national experience that translates quickly once they reach Columbia.
Robinson has spent years piling up credentials before ever reaching college. She was a two-time Los Angeles Times All-Star Team member and a three-time All-CIF Southern Section First-Team selection. She finished her high school career as Sierra Canyon’s all-time leading scorer in just three seasons, averaged more than 20.0 points per game each year and grabbed double-digit rebounds per game in her first two seasons. This season, Sierra Canyon won the CIF-SS Open Division championship, and Robinson delivered 32 points and 12 rebounds in the title game while averaging 21.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists. High School on Sports Illustrated named her Southern California Offensive Player of the Year, and she was the 2026 CIF-SS co-Player of the Year.
Her resume is just as strong in international play. Robinson made her USA Basketball debut as a 14-year-old on the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship team, led that event with 17.3 points per game and became the youngest MVP in its history as the United States won gold. She helped the U.S. win the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging a tournament-best 20.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while earning MVP honors, then was part of the gold-medal team at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup. This summer, she played for USA Basketball in the Nike Hoops Summit and scored a team-high 19 points in 23 minutes.
South Carolina is betting that Robinson’s scoring, size and experience will fit the standard Staley has set. For a program that keeps restocking with nationally proven talent, jerzy robinson signs south carolina is less a recruiting headline than a warning to the rest of the sport: another elite perimeter weapon is on the way.
