Kenny Omega to speak before AEW title shot against MJF in Edmonton

By Lauren Price Apr 9, 2026

will speak on Dynamite on April 8 in Edmonton, Alberta, three days before he meets for the AEW World Championship at Dynasty. The show airs at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on and streams on .

The appearance puts Omega back in the spotlight just after he and MJF signed the contract for their title match in Vancouver last week. It also marks Omega’s first AEW World Championship shot since October 2023, when MJF retained the belt against him.

The April 8 edition is the final Dynamite before Dynasty, which takes place April 12 in Vancouver, and Omega’s comments are set to frame the champion-versus-challenger build one last time before the pay-per-view. AEW is also advertising ’s return, ’s TBS Championship defense against and a trios match featuring the Don Callis Family, but Omega’s segment is the clear center of the card.

That focus matters because Omega’s path back to the title has been a long one, and the timing leaves no room for another reset before Vancouver. Darby Allin has also declared his interest in MJF’s championship and has already been on the receiving end of attacks and threats from the Don Callis Family, adding another layer to a week that now runs straight through the company’s biggest match.

Jericho’s return last week in Winnipeg, where he said, “Winnipeg…AEW…I’m home!”, gave the company another headline, but Omega’s promo is the one that points directly to the top of the card. If AEW is using Edmonton to sharpen the road to Dynasty, then the next words out of Omega’s mouth will tell the audience exactly how he sees this rematch and whether he believes this is finally the night he takes the title from MJF.
